Australian high-altitude mountaineer Allie Pepper has spent more than two decades pursuing some of the world’s highest mountains. In 2023, she committed to an extraordinary goal: becoming the first Australian to climb all 14 of the world’s 8,000-metre peaks without supplemental oxygen.
But beneath her ambition was a deeper struggle: a belief that she was never quite enough.
The unexpected death of her father, the breakdown of her marriage and the onset of menopause brought Allie to a crossroads in midlife. She began questioning whether achieving her dream could bring her the fulfilment she was seeking. For years, climbing had been intertwined with proving her worth.
Turning inward through meditation, mindset work and a growing spiritual connection, Allie began confronting the beliefs that had shaped her life. She discovered that the fulfilment she was seeking in the mountains could not be found on the summits. It had to come from within. Ironically, as she let go of the need for the mountains to prove her worth, she began to find greater success on them.
Told through intimate interviews and incredible expedition footage, Limitless Above the Clouds documents Allie’s pursuit of the world’s highest peaks without supplemental oxygen to date, alongside a deeply personal story of loss, transformation and pursuing a dream with everything you have. It explores what becomes possible when we stop looking outside ourselves for proof that we are enough and begin to question the beliefs that have been limiting us all along.

Journey Across Queen Maud Land on a Bike
